Requirements Needed For NECO GCE Registration

For you to start your registration or while going, you should carry along some things we have listed below;

1. Passport Photograph

A passport photograph is very important when you want to register for NECO GCE and not just any how passport but ome that has not stayed more than 6 months in your hand. So taking a fresh passport should be the best option for you.

2. Biometric Fingerprint

In the journey to reduce identity fraud in this NECO GCE Examination, NECO had to bring up the biometics fingerprint method as nobody has the same print.

During the registration, you will be expected to thumbprint and it will ve captured and saved.

Keep in mind that NECO will also conduct another Biometics during the exam (Verification), to be sure that the person that did the thumbprint before is still the person writing the exam.

Examination Fee

The examination fee for NECO GCE is 17,000 naira and you ade also expected to pay some other bills like; 500 naira and 2,000 naira for four-figuere table and waterproof cert jacket/folder respectively.

Basic Information Needed For NECO GCE Candidates

There are some things you should know about NECO GCE before you proceed to register or write your exam. Carefully read the list below;

  • The registration fee for NECO is not refundable
  • WALK IN CANDIDATES are expected to do their registration one day before the first paper.
  • Examination centre can not be edited after submission

  • All candidates will be informed about the availability of their centres ome day before the exam so you can prepare and go early and late coming migbt be a problem for you.
  • Smoking and bringing any electronic devices into the exam hall are strictly not allowed. This includes things like programmable calculators, mobile phones, iPads, tablets, smartwatches, smart glasses, and smart pens.
  • Candidates should dress in casual clothes, not uniforms. No one will be allowed into the exam hall with any weapons. You are only allowed to register for the exam once. If you register more than once, all your results will be canceled.
  • Also, be sure to arrive on time. Once the exam starts, no one will be allowed to enter the exam hall.

Note: To upload candidates’ data to the NECO portal online and get examination numbers, the candidate must be registered and have an online account.

If the candidate doesn’t have an account, it can be created for them at a cyber café.

Once the account is created, the candidate needs to log in and buy registration tokens (scratch cards are no longer used for SSCE External registration).

NECO GCE Registration Period

  • If you miss the regular registration deadline, there is a late registration window available.
  • Late registration starts on November 14, 2024, and ends on November 19, 2024.
  • Candidates opting for late registration will incur an additional fee of 2,000 Naira. This fee is added to the standard registration cost.

3. Walk-In Registration

  • For those who are unable to register during the regular or late registration periods, there is an option for walk-in registration.
  • The cost for walk-in registration is significantly higher, at 25,000 Naira per candidate.
  • Walk-in registration must be completed at least one day before the scheduled date of the first subject or paper the candidate intends to take.
  • This means if your first exam is on a Monday, you must complete your walk-in registration by Sunday at the latest.
