The University of Ibadan (UI) is a public research university in Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria.
The university was once a college of the University of London.
The college was established in 1948 as University College Ibadan, one of many colleges within the University of London.
It became an independent university in 1962 after Nigeria’s independence in 1960 and was renamed the University of Ibadan.
It is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Nigeria. Through its graduate network, the University of Ibadan has contributed to the political, industrial, economic and cultural development of Nigeria.
The University College Ibadan was formed based on recommendations to set up university colleges in British colonies.
It absorbed staff and students from Yaba Higher College, founded in 1932 as Nigeria’s first post-secondary vocational and teacher training school.
The University College adopted the British university model.
Kenneth Mellanby was appointed as the first principal in 1947 and classes began in January 1948.
The campus was designed in the tropical modernist architectural style.
Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria’s first Prime Minister, became the first Chancellor in 1963.
The first Nigerian vice-chancellor of the university was Kenneth Dike, after whom the university library is named.
Her motto is “Recte Sapere Fons” (To think straight is the fount of knowledge).
The current Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Kayode Adebowale.
The current Chancellor is Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar.
The University of Ibadan Postgraduate School is widely recognized in Nigeria and across Africa as one of the largest postgraduate schools on the continent.

Candidates Eligible to Buy UI Post UTME Screening Form

To qualify for the screening, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

The institution should be their first choice in the recent UTME, and they must have achieved a minimum score of 200.
Age is also a consideration; candidates should be at least sixteen (16) years old when accepting the admission. Those younger will have to defer their admission by a year.
For aspirants to the College of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy, obtaining five credits in one sitting in pertinent O/level subjects is compulsory. Meanwhile, candidates for other programmes can present two O/level results but should have a minimum of six credits in related subjects.
Importantly, UI recognises only WAEC, NECO, and ICGS as well as specific advanced level certificates for direct entry.
They do not acknowledge IJMB and JUPEP.

How to Apply for UI Post UTME Form

To register, candidates should:

Navigate to the Admission Portal.
Log in using their Jamb Registration Number as a username and surname in lowercase as a password.
Pay a portal access fee of N3,000.00 and a screening fee of N2,000.00. Payment can be made using credit/debit cards, direct bank payments using portal print-outs, or internet banking.
Ensure a valid phone number and email address are provided.
After successful payment, print the receipt, fill the bio-data form, submit, and then print the confirmation.
